Mango season goes strong in Kerala



Malayala Manorama Group’s FM offering, Radio Mango, is increasing interactivity among its radio audiences in Kerala with on-air weekend contests with the launch of Mango Weekends in its Kochi station. Through this initiative Radio Mango will offer hundreds of free movie tickets and movie merchandises to its listeners.

Radio Mango will initiate this first of its kind programme format in Kerala with the latest Hollywood release, ‘The Mummy: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’. The Kochi station will organise this in association with a local movie hall, Shridhar Theatres. Listerners can win tickets and other prizes by tuning in to the station’s weekend programmes, where the contest would be held.

Ravi Nair, Director - Programmes, Radio Mango, said, “Hopefully, we will be offering a wider bouquet of entertainment options to our listeners in Kerala than the usual weekend visits to the relatives. We would soon be extending this programme to our stations in Thrissur, Kozhikode and Kannur.”

World Cup 1983 - Radio Mango relives the magic Live

Radio Mango Kerala's No1 FM Station is all set to celebrate 25 years of India's 1983 Cricket World Cup Victory,with first of its kind radio event “1983 LIVE”, Radio Mango will air real time updates exactly as and when it happened on 25th June 1983 through this segment along with interesting facts and trivia related to cricketers and cricket, interviews of celebrities analyzing the match after its 1st innings as they had done 25 years ago.

1983 LIVE” will start at 7:15 am (to maximise listenership) on 25th June, 2008 and will include details from toss to post match presentation ceremony.

Sun TV’s SFM launches in Rajkot, Aurangabad & Ahmedabad

MUMBAI: Sun TV Network’s private FM station SFM has launched in Rajkot, Aurangabad and Ahmedabad. SFM is part of Sun TV’s subsidiary, South Asia FM Ltd.

With these two launches of SFM, the total operational FM stations of Sun TV will go up to 35.

Across India it already operates in Chennai, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Tirupati, Madurai, Tuticorin, Lucknow, Bhopal,Pondicherry, Kozhikode (Calicut), Indore, Vijayawada, Varanasi, Tiruchy, Rajahmundry, Kanpur, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Mangalore, Kannur, Allahabad, Jabalpur, Mysore, Guwahati and Jamshedpur, Nashik and Vadodara.

The company will launch 10 more stations, as it holds license for 45 stations in the country।
